When do I pay?
Only at the file step. Draft computation, the engine output, and the in-wizard summary are always free.

The in-wizard calculation and summary are free. The engine shows forms triggered by the inputs it supports and calls out unsupported or incomplete areas before you pay.
Payment is required when you generate the draft PDF package. Atamatax does not transmit or e-file returns. Tiers are flat and each covers one tax year: $299 (no PFICs), $499 (PFICs), $799 (treaty positions or expatriation screening). A prior tax year ships as worksheets rather than pre-filled official PDFs, so it is priced at the $199 CPA Export rate.
Refund policy: a software defect in a generated package must be reported within 14 days; if we cannot fix it, the purchase is refunded. The pricing and terms pages state the full conditions.
