Streamlined Foreign Offshore · flat $799

Years behind on US taxes abroad?
There's a penalty-free way back.

If you didn't know you had to keep filing, you're not in trouble — and you're far from alone. The Streamlined Foreign Offshore Procedure lets non-willful expats get fully compliant with no penalties. Atamatax prepares the whole package for a flat $799.

Non-willful only · Penalty-free when you qualify · Software, not a CPA firm

How it works

Catch up in three steps — eligibility first.

01

Check you qualify

Run the free eligibility checker: the non-residency test, the non-willful test, and whether streamlined is even the right path for your facts. No card required.

02

Build the package

We assemble three years of returns and six years of FBARs, classify any PFICs, and help you draft the Form 14653 certification.

03

Review, sign, and paper-file

You receive an IRS-ready package to review and sign. Streamlined submissions are paper-filed to the IRS — we give you exactly what to send.

Where we're honest with you

The limits — stated plainly.

Non-willful only

Streamlined is for honest mistakes. If your failure to file was willful, this is the wrong path — and using it can make things worse.

Willful → CPA referral

If your facts are near the willfulness line, we won't file you streamlined. We'll flag it and refer you to a CPA or tax attorney. Atamatax is software, not a law firm.

Paper-filed, not e-filed

Streamlined returns must be mailed to a specific IRS unit — they cannot be e-filed. We prepare the package and tell you exactly what to send.

This is general information, not tax or legal advice. The Form 14653 certification is signed under penalty of perjury and willfulness is a legal judgment — get a professional opinion if your facts are near the line.

Understand the program first

Streamlined filing · FAQ

Honest answers before you start.

Who qualifies for the Streamlined Foreign Offshore Procedure?
Broadly: US citizens or green-card holders who meet the non-residency test (lived outside the US for at least 330 full days in one of the last three years), whose failure to file was non-willful (an honest mistake, not deliberate hiding), and who aren't already under IRS examination. The free eligibility checker walks through each test. This is general information, not a determination of your eligibility.
What if my failure to file was willful?
Then the streamlined program is not for you, and filing streamlined when you were willful can make things worse. Willful cases generally go through the IRS Voluntary Disclosure Practice with a tax attorney. If your facts are anywhere near the line, we'll tell you and refer you to a CPA or attorney rather than file you streamlined. Atamatax is software, not a law firm.
Do you e-file the streamlined submission?
No — and importantly, streamlined returns are required to be paper-filed to a specific IRS unit, not e-filed, so this isn't a limitation of our software. We prepare the complete package and tell you exactly what to mail and where. The FBARs are filed electronically through FinCEN as the program requires.
Is $799 really all-in?
Yes for the standard Streamlined Foreign Offshore package: three years of returns (including PFIC analysis and Form 8621s where needed), six years of FBARs, and Form 14653 narrative help, at one flat price. Unusual situations — willful facts, business entities, very high PFIC counts — may need a referral, which we'll flag before you pay.
Will doing this trigger an audit?
The program is designed to be a quiet path back to compliance for non-willful taxpayers, and a clean, consistent submission is the goal. The most common cause of trouble is an inconsistent or incomplete Form 14653 narrative — which is exactly the part we help you get right. This is general information, not tax or legal advice.
